The Challenge
The development of Florence’s new High-Speed Rail hub required the strategic optimization of both infrastructure and technological components, with a particular focus on the civil works and railway systems of the bypass line and the new underground station.

Our Contribution
Te.Si.Fer. provided specialist engineering consultancy for the design update of a key infrastructure project on the Bologna-Florence High-Speed/High-Capacity (HS/HC) railway corridor.
Key Activities Included:
- Support for the review of the detailed design documentation for the new High-Speed Rail bypass.
- Design updates related to the new Belfiore underground station.
- Optimization and integration of civil and railway systems across the entire project.
Outcome
The project delivered maximum construction efficiency and feasibility for a 9 km railway section, including 7 km of underground infrastructure, while ensuring the technological continuity of the Florence rail hub as a natural and innovative extension of the High-Speed Rail corridor towards Rome and Naples.
